Metal Sonic v2.5 was a model of Metal Sonic that was caused by the Power Gem morphing 2.0 (Prime) into a new
model. 2.5 attempted to kill Sonic by capturing Tails and racing him to the volcano where Tails was kept. Metal Sonic had a change of heart, realising that he was more than a robot and sacrificed himself to save Sonic and Tails.
